Burglar Alarms
There are currently two different types of burglar alarms available for securing homes. Each provide the same level of security and stop or act as a deterrent to would be criminals in your area.

Wired Burglar
Alarms A wired system uses cables or wires to link the alarm system to the different zones (protected areas in your home). This type of alarm installation is ideal when replacing an older system and the wires are already in place, a new build (or renovation) property when the wires can be installed and hidden in the walls/ ceiling or when ceiling recesses or lofts are easily accessible. Trunking can of course be used but may not be ideal due to aesthetic reasons.

Wireless Burglar
Alarms Using the latest wireless technology cables are not required to link the zones to the main system so all that is required is to fit the PIRs (Passive Infrared Sensors) or door contacts in the correct area and connect them wirelessly. This type of alarm installation is ideal for homes where it is not possible or easy to install cables. A wireless system by not using cables does not need trunking so blends in with your home.

  • All our burglar alarms can be fitted with an IP module which allows access to the internet so you can access the easy to use and simple app online.

  • Pet friendly sensors can be used so that your alarm is not set off inadvertently.

  • As well as a keypad, fobs can also be used which is ideal for children and ease of use.

  • All our systems can be monitored 24/7 for additional security and peace of mind.

  • Wrist band alarms for the elderly or infirm (will call or text an alarm when pressed).

  • Cameras with sensors can be set up to send still shots to your smartphone.

CCTV
Cameras in the home are used for a variety of reasons including keeping an eye on your children in the garden, checking who is at the front door, protecting an outhouse, garage or shed and of course monitoring your home and belongings. With today’s technology systems can be integrated with your TV or you can have full recording via a DVR. Perfect for when you need to re-look at anything that may have happened.

CCTV systems these days can also link to the internet and via an app through your smartphone or laptop they can be monitored or controlled when you away from home to give you that extra bit of peace of mind. There are two technologies of cameras suitable for a home security system:

Analogue Analogue
CCTV cameras use old technology (non-digital) so the images captured may not be of the highest quality. Higher performance analogue cameras can be installed also with added infrared for night vision. Analogue cameras are cost effective and ideal for most homes.

HD-SDI
HD-SDI CCTV cameras use digital technology to capture and record images producing excellent clarity. Cameras can come in higher resolutions depending on the requirements and due to the digital image give greater flexibility for the home user when accessing via a smartphone or tablet when away from the home.

There are two main styles of home CCTV cameras:

Dome Cameras
Dome cameras are smaller and can be hidden to be more ascetically pleasing, ideal for inside the home or in small areas.

Bullet Cameras
Bullet cameras are more rugged in feel and look and are ideal on the outside of the house to act as a visible deterrent, some specifications will give greater field of vision if you have a longer driveway or garden.

Recording
DVRs or HD DVRs can be bought with 4 to 16 channels (depending on the number of cameras required). In some circumstances this can be increased as can the size of the recording hard drive (where the images are stored) again this depends on your requirements and how long you wish to keep you recorded images for.

Our trained engineers will provide a free home security survey and assess with you the key areas where a camera should be positioned and what sort of camera will be required to best protect your home.

Fire Alarms Guide

Fire Alarms & Smoke Detection Systems
People are often complacent about the risk of fire to their home and the long lasting damage and upset it can cause. To protect your family in the home there are different types of Fire Alarm Systems that can be installed depending on the size and layout of the property.

The easiest and the most simple is if you have had a burglar alarm installed by i-tech we can connect smoke alarms to this so when smoke is detected a siren will sound alerting your family to the danger. The next option is to install a standalone home fire alarm system.

This will run as a separate system to your burglar alarm. Depending on the size of your home we offer a two wire fire alarm system which allows sounders to be installed onto the same circuit as the smoke detectors and therefore reduces the cost of the installation.

Larger systems are available and like all our systems one of our trained engineers will provide a free home fire survey to fully assess your needs and what the best solution would be for you.
